These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Remington Rd. north of 280th Rd.

A 2013 Toyota Venza driven by Samuel K. Rziha, 16, Tampa, rear-ended a 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Gary M. Stuchlik, 55, rural Marion, as Stuchlik was slowing at 5:40 p.m. Oct. 3 to turn left into a driveway, according to a report released Friday.

The Toyota, owned by Catarina Rziha of the same Tampa address, sustained disabling damage to its front, hood, and windshield and was towed.

Stuchlik’s Ford remained drivable with damage to its rear. He was listed as possibly being injured but was not taken to a hospital.

Deputy Aaron Christner’s report blamed the wreck on inattentive and distracted driving by Samuel Rziha, but no tickets were listed as being issued.

60th Rd east of Quail Creek Rd.

Jessie H. Talkington, 19, Peabody, hit a wild turkey at 6:31 p.m. Oct. 4 with his 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, which sustained damage characterized as minor to its front and hood.

Ashton M. Percival, 18, rural Burns, was a passenger.

120th and Holly Rds.

Karen J. Goossen, 66, rural Peabody, hit a deer at 7:32 p.m. Oct. 5 with her 2016 Dodge Caravan, which sustained damage characterized as minor to its front third.

K-150 west of Zebulon Rd.

Darin L. Boline, 46, Eskridge, reported 1½ hours later that he had hit a deer at 6:58 a.m. Oct. 9 with his 2012 Ford F-250, which sustained damage characterized as minor to its front third.

US-50 west of Wagon Wheel Rd.

Sheldon J. Goerzen, 35, Marion County Lake, reported an hour later that he had hit a deer at 8:25 a.m. Oct. 9 with his 2012 Toyota Camry, which remained drivable with damage to its front third and undercarriage.

HILLSBORO

D St. west of Lincoln St.

While trying to change lanes on D St. at 1:49 p.m. Oct. 7, Paul D. Martinez, 60, Peabody, inexplicably drove a 2016 Kia Sorrento across oncoming lanes, hitting the left curb and crashing into a wooden fence owned by Duane Kliewer.

Assistant chief Randy Brazil’s report blamed the crash on inattentive driving. A witness suggested that Martinez might have been attempting to turn south onto Lincoln St. No tickets were reported as being issued.

The Kia, owned by Melinda S. Martinez of the same address, remained drivable with damage to its left front and headlight.

Hillsboro Community Hospital parking lot

Blinded by sun at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 7, Christina M. Novak, 59, Hillsboro, drove her 2023 Jeep Ranger into a utility pole, damaging the Jeep’s front bumper, radiator, grill, and air bags.

The pole was not damaged.
