Break out lawnmowers, dirt bikes, go-karts

Riding mowers — not to mention demolition derby cars — will race to the finish, and 4-Hers will show off their best work of the year July 20 to 27 at Marion County Fair.
Besides 4-H projects being displayed and judged all week, plenty of other activities will bring fairgoers.
4-H concessions will be available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 24 through 26 and a bounce house will be available from 4 to 10 p.m. those days. Food trucks will be available from 5 to 10 p.m.
Commercial booths and ground exhibits will open at 5:30 p.m. July 24.
A fair parade will begin at 6 p.m. July 24. It will be followed at 6:30 by live music by Night Life Sounds.
New this year, live 4-Hpresentation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 24.
Emprise Bank will put on a watermelon feed at 7 p.m. July 24, and the Marion County Power Pedal Pull for ages 4 to 12 also will begin at 7 p.m.
At 8 p.m. July 24 and 25 Kraft Rodeo will begin at the arena. The rodeo will include a mutt’n bustin’ competition for ages 6 and younger and a calf scramble for ages 10 and younger.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 7 p.m. July 25.
A Friends of 4-H event and livestock project auction will be at 6:30 p.m. July 26, and lawnmower, four-wheeler, go-kart, and dirt bike races will begin at 7 p.m.
Not to be outdone by vehicles, runners will compete in a glow run at 9 p.m. July 26. Cost will be $30 for adults and $15 for ages 4 to 10.
July 27 will be clean-up day. Demolition Derby will begin at 7 p.m. July 27.
