Dallke unseated; vote counting delayed
Longtime 3rd District county commissioner Randy Dallke was nudged off the ballot in Tuesday’s Republican primary.
Clarke Dirks unseated him, 184-152. Dirks will face Democrat Randy Eitzen in November.
Mike Beneke defeated former commissioner Dianne Novak, 247-128, for the Republican nomination to face independent incumbent Dave Mueller in the 2nd District.
Incumbent Jeff Soyez easily defeated former Peabody police chief Travis Wilson, 1,315-411, for sheriff, and Shelby Schroeder edged out Hannah Branson, 927-747, for register of deeds.
Nearly all observers had left the Courthouse by the time results, delayed by equipment problems, were announced at 1:40 a.m.
