Foundation honors volunteers, philanthropists

Representatives of four county community foundations were recognized earlier this month during Central Kansas Community Foundation’s first Spring Soiree.

The event at Sand Creek Event Center in Newton raised $24,000 and included dinner and music, a silent auction and recognition of area volunteers and philanthropists of the year.

Among the individuals recognized were:

• Randy and Judy Mills of Florence Community Foundation, 2023 Volunteers and Philanthropists of the Year.
• John and Laura Goerzen of Goessel Community Foundation, 2023 Philanthropists of the Year.
• Kathy Decker of Hillsboro Community Foundation, 2023 Volunteer of the Year.
• Cynthia and Roger Fleming of Hillsboro Community Foundation: 2023 Philanthropists of the Year.
• NM and Norma Patton of Peabody Community Foundation, 2023 Volunteers and Philanthropists of the Year.
