Fundraisers seek to aid woman hurt in wreck

Fundraisers have been established for a Marion woman severely injured in a wreck Nov. 22 at US-50 and Northeast Lake Rd. / Indigo Rd. extended in Harvey County.
Madison Jo Vinduska, 29, was taken to Wesley Medical Center after she drove into the path of an oncoming pickup while trying to turn north. She was taken to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, in critical condition.
Her 3-year-old son, Miller, traveling in a child car seat, was uninjured.
Vinduska suffered fractured ribs, bruised lungs, and serious injury to her neck. She has undergone three surgeries. More surgeries may be needed.
Donations to help pay for her care can be made to husband Mark Vinduska, father-in-law Duane McCarty, Marion Christian Church, or Central National Bank.
Checks made out to Marion Christian Church Outreach Fund may be mailed or taken to the church. Checks made out to Mark Vinduska may be taken to the Central National Bank.
“Life is a very fragile thing,” Mark Vinduska posted on social media. “I’ve known this my entire life, but it has never been more apparent than now. My emotions have been up and down.”
Mark said driving past the crash site is difficult, but is reminding himself how fortunate the family is.
“It is no doubt an absolute miracle that Miller is unharmed. It is a miracle that my wife is alive when most people with this type of injury die before they even get to the hospital.”
Mark wrote that on the third day after the wreck, Madison recognized him.
“It is no doubt she has a long road to recovery and it will likely be bumpy,” he wrote. “But one thing I do know is that this girl has fight and drive like nobody else. She will get through it because she wants to and does not have an ounce of quit.”
