Hands full

To the editor:

I live in Washington State, a long way from Kansas — a long way in terms of miles, geography, climate, agriculture, and especially politics.

I subscribed to the Marion County Record following national media coverage a year ago of the brazen attacks on the paper and owners’ home, intending to follow the legal processes this past year to quickly correct the obvious crime and punish the violators.

Boy, was I wrong! The controversy endures despite your continued attempts at resolution and justice.

As if that sorry experience wasn’t enough, I follow your weekly recap of the on-going nonsense of your city council, endless turnover in local law enforcement, and inability to find and retain qualified public servants. You certainly have your hands full!

I applaud your continued coverage of the political and senseless activities that proliferate in Marion County and Kansas, and endorse your reporting to expose and publicize these events. I wish you the best in your continuing efforts.
