Marion, Centre FFA students compete in career development

FFA students from both Marion and Centre competed recently in career development competitions.

Twenty-two Centre FFA members competed Saturday at Tonganoxie.

An A-team of Karsen Kroupa, Julia Brunner, Lili Espinoza, and Tanner Stuchlik placed second overall in entomology. Kroupa placed first individually.

The B-team placed first overall. Samantha Engler placed first individually, Lacey Wingerd, third, and Cameron Spohn, fifth.

In livestock judging, teams did not place, but Dillon Knepp placed fourth individually and Santiago Knepp, 14th.

In veterinary science, the A-team of Allie Stuchlik, Leah Brunner, and Julia Brunner placed fifth overall. Stuchlik placed 10th individually.

The B-team placed fourth overall, and Paige Whitcomb placed 14th individually.

Meanwhile, Marion High School’s FFA team placed fourth April 7 at a career development contest for which it was host.

Johnny Zieammermann placed eighth individually.

Other team members included Colton Boudreaux, and Karlee Fetrow, and Lane Watkins.

Fifteen teams and more than 60 students competed.
