Theft
A 2003 Ford F-150, unlocked and with the keys in it, was stolen along with $350 in hand tools and a leaf blower at 2:10 a.m. Friday from the driveway of Kevin D. Bernhardt’s residence in the 500 block of S. Main St.
The truck and items were recovered later in the day by Salina police after a high-speed pursuit into Ottawa County.
Suspect Ryan Hardey, 25, ran but quickly was captured. Marion County charges have not yet been filed, but he was being held without bond in Saline County Jail on suspicion of other charges.
In investigating the theft, Hillsboro police noticed a vehicle stolen from Durham parked a block away from where the pickup was taken. It was returned to its owner.
