Patrick Tajchman

Mass for Patrick Peter Tajchman, 77, of Ramona, who passed away peacefully Dec. 27 at Legacy of Herington, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. Family will receive visitors 5 to 7 p.m. today at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home in Marion with Rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Pilsen Cemetery.

Born Sept. 4, 1944, on his family’s farm in Ramona to Peter and Adeline Tajchman, Patrick was a lifelong resident of Ramona and Marion and a 1962 graduate of Centre High School.

Shortly after graduating, he began farming. Patrick lived most of his life on the family farm in Ramona. Patrick looked after his mother on the farm until her passing. The farm was the love of his life, and he enjoyed the peacefulness of the outdoors and the simple life.

He kept up with farming duties along with working for Deines Corp. until suffering a stroke several years ago.

Patrick was a faithful parishioner of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church throughout his entire life. He was a sports enthusiast who loved watching Major League Baseball and basketball. Patrick also loved watching college football and basketball. As Patrick’s mobility decreased, he enjoyed keeping up with daily walks and bird watching.

Patrick is survived by twin sister Patricia White of Florida, brother Robert Tajchman of Colorado, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leonard, Francis, Clarence, and Donald; and sister Margaret.

Yazel-Megli Funeral Home is serving the family. A memorial has been established with Home Health and Hospice of Dickinson County.
