Paula Rhodes

Services for Paula Rae (Irwin Duggan) Rhodes, 84, who died Friday in Oklahoma, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Durham.

Burial will be at College Hill Cemetery, Tampa. Visitation will be 5 to 7 tonight at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Born Dec. 31, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ray Bennett and Harriett Irene (Schwartz) Irwin, she married John Daniel “Danny” Duggan on Feb. 7, 1959, and within a few years moved to Tampa, where he farmed with his father. The family moved to Durham in 1969. She operated a sewing and alterations business.

In May, 1980, she married Dean Rhodes in Miami, Oklahoma. He died in January, 1997.

Survivors include daughters Eileen Killmer of Yukon, Oklahoma; Elaine Carlson of Palm Coast, Florida; and Christine Duggan of Canton; sons Jim Duggan of Cordell, Oklahoma, and John Duggan of Chickasha, Oklahoma; sisters Lou Duran of Cordell, Oklahoma, and Jean Henke of Arizona; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
