Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Nov. 16 — Police removed debris from a roadway at 190th and Jade Rds.

Nov. 17 — A motorist was cited for speeding near C and Adams Sts. A report was made of a dog running free.

Nov. 18 — Motorists were warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St., and for failing to stop at a stop sign on Ash St. at US-56. A report was made of a dog running free. A report was made of an accident at Dollar General, but no accident report was made.

Thursday — A found wallet was returned to its owner. A report was made of a possible gas skip at Ampride but it proved to be issues with a credit card reader. A report was made of an accident at Salem Home but no accident report was made.

Friday — Marijuana was found in a vehicle after a traffic stop for speeding near US-56 and Orchard Dr. The case remains open and no arrest has been made. A motorist received assistance at Casey’s General Store.

Sunday — A dog-owner received a citation after her dog escaped its yard and attacked another dog, killing it. Officers assisted with a dryer fire in the 300 block of Kennedy St.

Nov. 16 — A motorist was warned for having a headlight out on US-56 near Cedar St.

Nov. 17 — A found wallet was returned to its owner.

Nov. 18 — A report was made of a dog running free in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St., but the animal could not be found. Police assisted in trying to find two steers running free near Lincoln and Maple Sts. Officers helped a lost motorist with directions. A person was warned for possible protection order violations. A group of juveniles was warned for underage smoking in the 1000 block of E. Main St. Motorists were warned for traffic violations.

Thursday — Chase M. Carlson, 30, Marion, reported that a 2001 Dodge Dakota worth $7,500 had been stolen in the 100 block of S. Thorp St. The case remains under investigation. Motorists were warned for speeding, and for having a headlight out.

Friday — Sarah V. Smith, 42, Marion, reported that a massage chair worth $100 and massage table worth $100 had been stolen in the 600 block of N. Roosevelt St. A key lock also was damaged during the burglary.

Saturday — Police checked on a group of people near storage units along N. Roosevelt St. Officers checked on a vehicle that had its flashing lights on near Main and Locust Sts. Everything was OK, and the driver was playing Pokémon Go. A person received assistance after his or her wheelchair stopped working on a ramp in the 500 block of S. Cedar St.

Peabody

Nov. 16 — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50 near Peabody.

Nov. 17 — A motorist was cited for speeding on US-50 near Peabody.

Thursday — Motorists were warned for making an illegal J-turn in the 100 block of N. Walnut St., and for running a stop sign at 2nd and Walnut Sts. A motorist was warned for traffic violations. A resident was warned for having health and safety violations at a house in the 200 block of E. Division St.

Saturday — Police investigated a non-injury accident after a vehicle crashed into a gas meter. A report was made of identity theft in the 700 block of N. Locust St., but no offense report was made. Police assisted with a Westview Manor resident needing a mental evaluation at the manor.
