ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

HILLSBORO

Oct. 25 — Police helped locate a resident’s missing spouse and warned a resident about placing trash in a neighbor’s container.

Oct. 26 — A resident met with police about concerns related to a civil matter.

Oct. 27 — Remains of a dead cat were removed from a street.

Thursday — Recovered property was returned to its owner. A check on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of S. Washington St. determined that the resident was in a Salina hospital.

Friday — Debris was removed from US-56 and Adams St. A resident was contacted about photographs exchanged on social media. A dog reported to be running free near Jefferson and 2nd Sts. was not found.

Saturday — A resident asked that no report be taken regarding theft of railroad ties from a driveway. A motorist was stopped at US-56 and Orchard St. for not having taillights turned on. Police helped Marion officers locate several Tabor College students for an investigation.

MARION

Oct. 25 — Police notified sheriff’s deputies that two pigs were loose near the US-56/77 and K-150 roundabout. A dog running free in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was captured. A juvenile reported as a runaway was located. Welfare of a resident of the 500 block of N. Cedar St. was checked as were a disabled vehicle in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. and an open door in the 900 block of Industrial St.

Oct. 26 — Two motorists were warned for speeding and an open door again was reported in the city’s industrial park.

Oct. 27 — A possible theft was investigated. Officers and their families served supper to a youth group.

Thursday — A bicycle found in Central Park was taken to the police station. Debris was removed from an unspecified roadway. Two parking tickets were issued.

Friday — Police helped a trucker make a tight turn, met with a resident about a civil matter, and checked on a disabled vehicle that had hit a curb in the 200 block of Elm St.

Saturday — A resident was told to extinguish open burning in the 100 block of Forest St. Police discussed a child custody issue.

Sunday — Two Tabor College student-athletes were arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession after a noise complaint in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. A parking ticket also was written in that block. Suspicious activity reported in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. was not located. Officers stood by during a civil matter in the 1000 block of E. Main St. Two motorists were warned for speeding.
