ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 14 — Methamphetamine reportedly was discovered in a vehicle stopped because its driver was suspected of having a suspended license. A dog running free in the 200 block of S. Adams St. was returned to its owner, and the owner was cited.

Nov. 15 — A dog reportedly running free in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was not found.

Nov. 16 — Fender-benders at Ash and D Sts. and in the 300 block of S. Adams St. were investigated. Drivers were warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. and the 700 block of S. Ash St. A disconnected 911 call from the 400 block of Arbor Ct. was attributed to accidental dialing.

Thursday — A driver received directions at US-56 and Industrial Rd.

Friday — Police met with a resident looking for her dog in the 400 block of S. Birch St. and helped a juvenile who was late getting home. A disconnected 911 call from the 300 block of N. Ash St. was attributed to accidental dialing.

Saturday — A dog running free in the 200 block of S. Main St. was returned to its owner. Drivers were warned for running a stop sign at Ash St. and Grand Ave. and for speeding in the 700 block of S. Ash St.

Sunday — Two bottles of alcohol were reported shoplifted from R&D Liquor, 500 Western Heights Circle.

MARION

Police made a total of six traffic stops during the week.

Nov. 14 — Owners of vehicles parked on city streets for extended periods in possible violation of a new city ordinance were contacted. A reported water leak in the 1000 block of Industrial St. was determined to be routine flushing of lines. Welfare of a resident of the 1200 block of E. Main St. was checked.

Nov. 15 — A dog running free near 4th and Santa Fe Sts. was taken to a veterinary clinic.

Nov. 16 — Seth A. Banning 31, Marion, was arrested on a warrant issued after he failed to appear in court.

Thursday — An alarm at Marion Senior Center malfunctioned. The owner of a barking dog was warned.

Friday — A report of a violation of an order of protection from abuse in the 100 block of W. Santa Fe St. was determined to be unfounded. Police checked on the welfare of residents in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. and the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Saturday — A resident who walked away from Marion Assisted Living was returned to the facility. A verbal disturbance in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St. was investigated, but no action was taken.

Sunday — Police stood by at the county jail after an inmate became unruly.
