ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
April 8 — At a parent’s request, police counseled several juveniles. Recovered property was returned.
April 9 — A driver was warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. Police helped with a crisis evacuation drill at Hillsboro High School and met with a resident about a trespassing issue. A reportedly reckless driver was not found.
April 10 — Police helped a resident find a new home for a stray cat, talked to a resident about dumping trash into city-owned containers, and stood by during an employee termination at Countryside Feed.
Thursday —A report on a hit-and-run accident involving a building is pending. A driver of a car matching the description of the vehicle involved was found sleeping in a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Birch St. He was arrested. A phishing scam was investigated. Police met with a parent about issues involving a child and with a resident about a trespassing issue.
Friday — A non-injury accident was investigated. Found property was turned in by a resident. A driver at Indigo and 150th Rds. was cited for speeding.
Saturday — Drivers were ticketed for speeding on US-56 near Adams St. and near Kanza Rd. A driver in the 900 block of E. D St. was warned for speeding. A stray dog was reported outside the city limits at US-56 and Indigo Rd.
Sunday — A juvenile accused of trespassing was returned to his residence. Police stood by during a civil matter and patrolled the downtown area on foot.
MARION
April 8 — A driver was ticketed for unspecified moving and registration violations in the 300 block of Eisenhower Dr. Another driver was warned for speeding in the 600 block of E. Main St. An unspecified complaint in the 300 block of Locust St. was investigated.
April 9 — A loose dog in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. was taken to Animal Health Center. Drivers were warned for speeding at Eisenhower Dr. and Denver St. and at US-56 and Cedar St., where a driver also was warned for an equipment violation.
April 10 —A driver was ticketed for an unspecified moving violation in the 700 block of E. Main St.
Thursday — Police investigated a trespassing complaint at Casey’s General Store and a possible scam reported by a resident. Drivers were warned for speeding and an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.
Friday — Police checked an abandoned vehicle in the 400 block of N. or S. Roosevelt St. A resident complained about a black substance at Main and Cedar St. that turned out to be an asphalt patch. Police talked to the driver of a truck pulling someone on a skateboard. Drivers were warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Industrial St. and for an equipment violation and speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.
Saturday — A 36-year-old man stopped for speeding on US-56 at Cedar St. was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Another driver was warned about an equipment violation on US-56 at Industrial St.
