ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Oct. 21 — Routine activities.

Oct. 22 — No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 700 block of S. Washington St. Police patrolled downtown on foot.

Oct. 23 — Police met with a resident who had questions about child custody. No problems were found after meeting with a driver who reportedly had driven recklessly.

Thursday — A non-injury accident in a Tabor College parking lot was investigated. Police provided training about illicit substances for Parents as Teachers.

Friday — Wanted on an Arkansas warrant, Douglas R. Geisinger, 45, Florence, was arrested after being found in Memorial Park. Police went to Hillsboro Community Hospital to take a report from a person who was bitten by a cat in Lehigh.

Saturday — Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Adams St. and in the 700 block of S. Ash St.

Sunday — Smoke noticed in the 700 block of W. Grand Ave. was determined to be steam from a boiler. Drivers were warned for speeding on 190th Rd. west of town and for an equipment violation near Memorial Park.

MARION

Oct. 21 — A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Industrial St.

Oct. 22 — Police decided no crime had occurred after investigating a matter involving a juvenile in the 200 block of S. 4th St.

Oct. 23 — A dog loose in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St. was returned to its owner.

Thursday — No problems were found in checking on reported disturbance in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. A driver was warned about defective equipment at Main St. and Eastmoor Dr.

Friday — Ambulance dispatches indicate a 14-year-old boy at the principal’s office at Marion Middle School was thought to have overdosed on amphetamine, but police say only that they continue to investigate an unspecified matter from the 700 block of E. Main St. A dog loose in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St. was taken to a local veterinarian. Unspecified property was reportedly found in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St. No problems were found in checking on a report of an out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Industrial St., at US-56 and Cedar St., in the 600 block of N. Cedar St., and again at US-56 and Cedar St. Drivers were warned for having defective equipment at US-56 and Cedar St. and at Main St. and Eisenhower Dr.

Saturday — A report of a person threatened with stabbing in the 1500 block of E. Main St. has been referred to the county attorney for consideration of criminal charges. Police investigated a report of unspecified property damage. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St., and near US-77 and 170th Rd. and for having defective equipment at US-56 and Industrial St. Police answered questions about a civil matter in the 1000 block of Main St.

Sunday — A dog loose in the 400 block of Walnut St. was taken to a local veterinarian. Police responded to a civil matter in the 300 block of Locust St. Drivers were warned for having defective equipment near US-56 and Industrial St. and for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St. and twice near US-56 and Timber Rd.
