ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Feb. 10 — The owner of dogs loose in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St. was located. A trailer parked in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. was removed by its owner. Police taught a class about scams at Parkside Homes and talked to a resident about a civil matter.
Feb. 11 — Routine activities.
Feb. 12 — A non-injury accident at Ash and D Sts. was investigated. Dogs were reported loose in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. Police conferred with Kansas Bureau of Investigation about a pending case.
Thursday — Drivers were warned for not using headlights at D and Adams St. and at Ash St. and Grand Ave. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 300 block of S. Ash St. Police helped with a door problem in the 200 block of S. Washington St.
Friday — A driver was ticketed for going 83 mph in a 65-mph zone on US-56 at Ash St. Another was warned for having a headlight out at US-56 and Adams St. Police spoke to a resident about a civil matter.
Saturday — A driver was warned for having a defective headlight at Ash and 3rd Sts.
Sunday — A 22-year-old Hillsboro woman was arrested on suspicion of multiple charges after a domestic incident at her home in the 200 block of S. Washington St. A report of harassment in the 800 block of W. Grand Ave. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on an alarm at Dollar General and an unlocked door at Emprise Bank. Police were unable to locate a McPherson County vehicle that might have been involved in a domestic incident but were able to help a driver at US-56 and Falcon Rd.
MARION
Feb. 10 — A non-injury accident was investigated in the 1000 block of E. Main St. A dog loose in the 100 block of Elm St. was not caught. An email scam was reported in the 100 block of S. 3rd St. A driver was warned for speeding on US-56 near Timber Rd. An unspecified complaint in the 300 block of Locust St. was referred to the city’s building inspector and code enforcement officer.
Feb. 11 — A theft was reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St., and a complaint of stalking was investigated in the 100 block of N. Thorp St. Drivers were warned for speeding at Main and 3rd Sts. and near US-56 and Timber Rd.
Feb. 12 — Police escorted someone who thought he or she was being followed.
Thursday — A driver was warned for speeding near Main and Cedar St. No problems were found in checking on a possibly suicidal person in the 500 block of N. Coble St. Police talked to residents about a civil matter, a possible scam, and which breeds of dog are prohibited.
Friday — Two drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St. Police talked to a resident about lost property.
Saturday — A report of a possible scam was referred to the sheriff’s office. Police contacted owners of vehicles involved in a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. 3rd St. and talked to a resident about a civil issue.
Sunday — Police determined no crime had been committed after responding to a complaint of trespassing in the 100 block of W. Santa Fe St. Another resident’s complaint was deemed a civil matter. A dog reported to be loose in the 300 block of N. 3rd St. was not found. Drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Timber Rd. and for having defective license tag lights near US-56 and Cedar St. and US-56 and Industrial St.
