Polka marks anniversaries

Although three Pilsen couples didn’t marry on the same dates, all hit their golden anniversaries this year and marked the achievement Saturday with a joint Polka party.
Don and Jeannie Vinduska, Dennis and Terry Klenda, and Francis and Mary Jirak were feted with dancing and polka music played by the Barefoot Becky polka band of Mount Vernon, Iowa.
The dance floor was crowded with people ages 3 into their 90s all wishing the couples more happy years together.
The Vinduskas married May 6, 1972, at Pilsen. The Klendas married Nov. 25, 1972, at Colwich. The Jiraks married Oct. 28, 1972, at Pilsen.
