Priests to celebrate 60th anniversary

Longtime Marion residents Bob and Judy Priest will celebrate their 60th anniversary June 9.

He was a Methodist minister before they married in 1961 in Wichita. She went into ministry at age 52, after both their children were raised.

He spent 42 years serving churches in Ohio and Kansas before retiring. She retired from ministry in 2001 after 13 years in the pulpit.

They served churches in Marion, Arlington, Burns, Cassoday, Furley, Glasco, Greenwich, Iuka, Peabody, Smith Center, St. John, Pratt County, and Wichita.

Their family includes Miriam Newman of Rose Hill, and Stephen Priest and Rachel Priest of Kansas City, and four grandchildren.
